When scrapbooking and buying special background paper, do you still use the album paper?
I am just getting into scrapbooking due to the new addition in my family. I am wondering, when you go out and purchase the nice pretty background paper, do you glue that to the provided white paper of the scrapbook or do you omit the white paper and just use the pretty paper?

I have chosen to not glue anything to the scrapbook white board. I figured if I need to change my mind on order of the pages, it’s impossible with something glued to both sides. So I just get a background paper and attach everything to that, then slide it in (in front of the white page). If you mean, do you utilize the white paper as part of the background, and just decorate the white paper…no, I don’t do that either. I like lots of decoration and cover every square inch.
Either way, your choice.
oh wow no! lol u just slide out the albulm paper… if its what im thinking.. and slide in the new paper or use a solid piece of paper they make for scrapbooking and cut out and frame pictures with the pretty paper
I use those behind the page in between the 2 layouts. Because if you use vellum then it will be see through. so I don’t actually use them for layouts just as a seperator in case it has a light background or vellum background. Does that make sense?
For me, it really depends on the weight of the pretty paper. I really like to economize my scrapbooking, so my first instinct is to tell you to take the white paper out. But sometimes the pretty paper is so thin, that I leave it in. Once I have a scrapbook page behind it, however, there is usually enough firmness to take it back out. Save a tree and do not attach the pretty paper to the white paper provided in the scrapbook. Only use it if you need to — otherwise take it out.

Sometimes…
Depends on the pretty paper. If it’s thick then I would take out the album paper and/or just slide it in but if its thin paper then just slide it in or glue it. If you glue it the paper it can get damaged and it can make the background not so nice. So it all comes down to if the pretty paper is thick or not. Hope that helps…!!??
Never. I just use the background paper. It gives the wall paper effect. You can take out all that album paper and use it for other things like scratch paper or paint blotter. I even use it on other pages if I need a white or black matting paper.
I take the white paper out and use it for something else. If you get too many papers in the plastic sheet it will be too tight.
I use the top load album pages so I simply use cardstock or the printed paper. I use this paper instead of the paper that comes with the album. I do keep the album paper for when I choose to use a white 12X12 page.
