If there's a 99 cent store in your area, you can get all kinds of stickers and other scrapbook goodies for, well, 99 cents each. Love those stores! Anyway, for handwriting, why not just use a pretty font in notepad or something? Print it out on some colorful paper, also from the 99 cents store, and it'll look great.

My experience is limited as I've helped a friend with 1 project, and just began one of my own. The tools and accessories are expensive for sure...I've spent over $100 on stuff for one scrapbook project, but a lot of things will be left over for future projects, or were one-time purchases that will last indefinitely (scissors, cutting board, etc).

If you have poor handwriting, consider seeking out a stencil that you like...or there are handwriting fonts online that you could print out your text, on any kind of paper and in any color, that would look like handwriting and not typing.

I've watched eBay for supplies but nothing of interest to me came up. I watch my local craft stores for sales and coupons and do my shopping then.

Hope you enjoy it!

You might not know this, but your home printer's ink is suppose to be completely safe for scrapbooking. Find a nice paper that's acid free and archival safe. Print your own phrase this way that's how I do all my pages, my writing is terrible as well.

For myself, I did a search of paw prints. You could use that for the background; price - free if you have a printer.

definately use the computer to print out what you want. this way you can change the font make it bigger or smaller etc. scrapbooking doesnt have to be expensive if you know the right people and you only buy what you need for each project. I belong to a yahoogroup that gets products in big buys and we share the cost. its normally 50% off store prices and the owner only charges shipping and like 20%. so im still getting my stuff for 25-30% off and no tax so im actually saving more.
